Plot
This novel is a coming-of-age story centered around Nina, a sixteen-year-old girl in her second year at Poljane High School. The plot begins with the arrival of two new boys, Borut and Boris, who are both poets and mountaineers. Both fall in love with Nina and write her short, humorous love poems that they secretly place in her pockets. Although she initially rejects Boris, they remain friends. Nina spends her free time with her friends at local cafés, where they explore their youth and confront issues like love, alcohol, and drugs. The story takes a tragic turn when Nina begins a relationship with an older boy named Niko, who breaks her heart, and her friend dies in a climbing accident. The novel explores themes of teenage relationships, emotional turmoil, and the process of self-discovery during adolescence.[3][4][5]
