Nabiran Khatun (Bengali: নবীরন খাতুন) is a Bangladeshi professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Farashganj SC, the Bangladesh U20 national team and the Bangladesh national team.[1]

Early life

Born in Magura, Nabiran Khatun comes from a muslim family. In 2017, she was admitted to Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan as a fifth-grade student at its Savar campus, marking the formal beginning of her football journey. The girl from Magura once led her district team to the JFA U-14 title during the height of the pandemic, in late 2020. That day, she scored twice in the final.[2]

Club career

Farashganj SC

Nabiran played for Farashganj SC in the Bangladesh Women’s Football League since 2024.[3]

International career

Nabiran had played all four matches in the team's runners-up run in 2022 SAFF U-18 Women's Championship. She was the member of 2023 SAFF U-20 Women's Championship and 2024 SAFF U-19 Women's Championship winning team. Till then, she used to play as a striker.

She had her first senior team callup for two friendly match against United Arab Emirates in March 2025.[4] During the preparations for UAE friendlies, the head coach Peter Butler converted and trained her as a defender, that's how she became a defender. She was a member of team Bangladesh which secured qualification for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup for the first time in history. The team topped Group C in the 2026 qualifiers with, defeating Bahrain 7–0, Myanmar 2–1, and Turkmenistan 7–0, finishing with nine points from three matches. The historic qualification was confirmed after a 2–2 draw between Bahrain and Turkmenistan ensured Bangladesh’s top position in the group.[5][6]

She played all the matches in the team's winning run in 2025 SAFF U-20 Women's Championship.[7] Bangladesh secured qualification for the 2026 AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup for the first time in history through 2026 AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup qualification, where she played all three matches.[8]

Nabiran made her international debut for Bangladesh on 24 October 2025, in an international friendly match against Thailand.[9]
