Miriam A. Hyman is an American actress. She is best known for playing Dre in the drama series The Chi and USA Stacy Marks in the crime drama series Power Book IV: Force.

Early life

Hyman was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and raised in Philadelphia.[1] She went on to graduate from the Yale School of Drama and is a recipient of the prestigious Princess Grace Award and Leonore Annenberg Fellowship for Performing Arts.[2]

Career

Her first recurring role came playing ME Emile Cooper in the crime series Blue Bloods.[3] She has also been featured in shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, The Rookie, Orange Is The New Black, SMILF, NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Master of None.[4] Her biggest role so far has been playing Dre in the drama series The Chi.[5] She also had a starring role as US Stacy Marks in the crime drama series Power Book IV: Force.[6]

Personal life

When she is not acting she performs as a hip hop artist under the moniker Robyn Hood. She is an outpsoken advocate for Black Lives Matter. [7]
