Michael Holmstrom Jr. is an American politician serving since 2025 as a member of the Minnesota Senate. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, Holmstrom represents District 29 in central Minnesota,[1] located primarily in Wright County.[2]

Minnesota Senate

Holstrom was elected to the Minnesota Senate in a special election on November 4, 2025. The district was vacated upon the death of Republican Bruce Anderson.[3] After winning a primary election in August 2025,[4] Holstrom defeated Louis McNutt (DFL) with over 73% of the vote.[5] He was sworn in on November 18, 2025.[6]
