Marisa Sweeney is an American politician who is a member-elect for the New Jersey General Assembly's 25th district. A member of the Democratic Party, she was first elected in 2025.
Career
A member of the Morristown Planning Board, Sweeney first announced her campaign for the General Assembly in early 2025, with the support of gubernatorial candidate Steven Fulop.[1] She won the June Democratic nomination unopposed, alongside Steve Pylypchuk.[2] Sweeney was elected in the general election after finishing second, behind incumbent Republican Aura K. Dunn. She unseated incumbent Republican Christian Barranco, who conceded the race on November 6.[3]
