Marcus Woodson is an American football coach who was most recently the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Woodson was fired on September 29 by Arkansas interim head coach Bobby Petrino.[1]

Playing career

Woodson played for four years at Ole Miss. In those four years, he started two years at the safety position notching one interception.[2][3] However, Woodson suffered a career-ending injury.[4]

Coaching career

Woodson started his coaching career at Millsaps as the defensive backs coach, where he stayed for three seasons.[5] From there, Woodson would be hired at Charleston Southern where he would assume the same role as defensive backs coach and would also become the team's recruiting coordinator.[6][7] After Woodson's stint with Charleston Southern, he would become the defensive backs coach at Fresno State.[8][9] After two years with Fresno State, Woodson would be hired by Memphis as the defensive backs coach.[10][11]

After a two-year stint with Memphis, Woodson moved to Auburn to be the team's defensive backs coach.[12][13] After one season with Auburn, Woodson received the role of recruiting coordinator.[14]

After two seasons with Auburn, Woodson became the defensive backs coach at Florida State.[15][16] Then after three years with Florida State, Woodson got his first coordinator role as he was hired by Arkansas to be their co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach.[17][18]
