Mannat – Har Khushi Paane Ki

Mannat – Har Khushi Paane Ki is an Indian Hindi-language television drama series that premiered on Colors TV on 6 January 2025 and streams digitally on Disney+ Hotstar. Produced by Mukta Dhond under Malhar Content Creations, it stars Ayesha Singh, Adnan Khan and Mona Vasu.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Mumbai, the story begins 22 years ago when Mannat was abandoned by her biological mother, Sonia Khanna at Marine Drive, but was saved by a young boy, named Aman Kumar, and was taken in and raised by her maternal aunt, Shruti. After abandoning Mannat, Sonia had changed her name to Aishwarya and had moved to London, where she had married a businessman, named Gagan Raisingh. Due to Gagan's mistakes in business, his father, Rajendra had handed over the business and household responsibilities to Aishwarya, which had upset Gagan's mother, Keerat.

But overtime, Gagan began to see Aishwarya's actual colours and he began to drink to cope. After graduating from culinary college, Mannat now embarks on her professional journey as a chef. She lands her first job at a high-end restaurant "Mezbaani" that, is owned, by Aishwarya and her business partner, Vikrant Saluja. Unbeknownst to anyone, Mannat and Aishwarya share a deep connection. When Aishwarya discovers Mannat's disadvantaged background, and the growing bond between Mannat and Vikrant, she fires Mannat. But Vikrant sees Mannat's potential and culinary talent, re-hiring her, despite Aishwarya's opposition.

Vikrant remains oblivious to the fact that, his identity has been fabricated, he is actual Aman, who had once rescued Mannat at Marine Drive, the he real Vikrant had tragically passed away from an illness, when he was five years old, a tragic event that, had led to Neetu to driving recklessly, resulting in an accident that, had injured Aman's parents, Bhushan and Vishaka. Instead of seeking medical help, she callously abandoned them, abducting Aman in a misguided effort to replace her late son, giving him the name Vikrant. Unable to come to terms with her loss, Neetu had constructed a new life for Aman.

Bhushan and Vishaka were eventually taken to a hospital, where Vishaka's injuries were minor, but Bhushan's were far more serious, requiring surgery for his survival. When Ronnie had learned about the incident, instead of ensuring Aman's return to his family, he chose to support Neetu's delusion, even attempting to bribe Aman's grandmother, Shusheela to prevent her from pressing charges against Neetu for her crimes and reckless actions. He had proposed buying Aman from Shusheela and also had offered to cover the costs for her son's surgery.

But despite Shusheela rejecting Ronnie's attempts to drop the charges, he had still covered the cost of Bhushan's surgery. But unfortunately, due to apparent delays in receiving care, Bhushan did not survive. Later, Shusheela had inexplicably dropped the charges against Neetu and had sold her grandson, Aman to Ronnie and Neetu for 50,000, after, which they had moved to London. The only individuals, who are aware of Aman's actual identity, aside from Neetu and Ronnie, is Ronnie's brother, Bobby and his sister-in-law, Raveena.

Ronnie is haunted, by the guilt over his inability to save Bhushan, despite covering the surgery costs, well Neetu feels remorse for her role in what she believes had led to Bhushan's death. Unbeknownst to both of them, Bhushan's death was not a direct, result of Neetu's actions, but, due to Vishaka's interference in his medical treatment to profit from the insurance claims. Vishaka, prioritizing financial gain over her husband's life, coercing Shusheela, into dropping the charges and selling Aman, by threatening her, with a false criminal charge, because the entire Kumar family were financially broke, which had led to Vishaka to value money over the welfare of her family, including Vishaka's son, Aman, who she ultimately sold to extort future funds.

Despite returning to India after being away for 22 years, Aman has no memories of his past, although fragments occasionally resurface. But Neetu has been secretly administering illegal drugs to Aman for years to suppress his memories and to conceal his actual identity.

At the restaurant, Mezbaani, Mannat is humiliated, by the head chef and Vikrant's arrogant cousin, Puneet, but she remains determined to keep her job. Aishwarya, who is seeking to strengthen her business ties, with Vikrant, wants her second daughter, Malla to become engaged to him. Unlike Aishwarya, Malla is a close college friend of Mannat.

On Holi, Sonia discovers that, the daughter that, she had once abandoned has been adopted, by Shruti. Terrified that, her past might come to light, she sets fire to Mannat's chawl in an attempt to kill Shruti and Mannat, and bury her former life. After setting the fire, she learns that, Mannat is her biological daughter, who was not present at the time. Shruti is gravely injured and falls, into a coma. The chawl residents wrongfully blame Mannat for the fire, arrogantly disowning her, but Vikrant brings her home and offers her shelter in the outhouse, upsetting Neetu. Aishwarya instigates Neetu against Mannat, who is then mistreated, by Neetu and discouraged from getting close to Vikrant.

Meanwhile, Malla begins to fall for Vikrant and grows jealous of his bond with Mannat. To halt Mannat's investigation, into her identity, Sonia bribes a Mezbaani employee, Sunita to impersonate her. In Mezbaani's kitchen, Aishwarya's assistant, Shalini is raped, by Bobby. To protect the reputation of Mezbaani, Aishwarya forces Shalini, into silence and falsely accuses a chef, named Derek of the crime. Mannat learns the truth and despite opposition, and losing her job, publicly confronts Bobby. Ronny decides to report him to the police, but Raveena blackmails Ronny, into silence, by threatening to reveal Aman's actual identity to him.

Meanwhile, Puneet's sister, Anu is about to get engaged. To permanently silence Shalini, Aishwarya arranges her engagement to Puneet, who is forced, into it after learning of his father, Bobby's crime. Despite being egoistic, Puneet condemns Bobby's actions and feels ashamed of him, but he goes along, with the decision for Anu's sake. On the day of the engagement, Bobby attempts to assault Mannat again, but Vikrant intervenes and beats him up, bringing him, before the family. Shocked to learn that, his parents, Ronnie and Neetu knew the truth all along, Vikrant feels betrayed.

Bobby is arrested, Shalini's wedding is called off and Anu's fiancé breaks the engagement, due to the scandal. When Raveena tries to stop Vikrant from testifying, by blackmailing Neetu, Neetu attempts suicide. Aishwarya steals the evidence, but she is forced to testify against Bobby after Mannat threatens to file an attempted murder charge for previously locking her in a freezer. Bobby is found guilty, and sentenced to 14 years in prison for rape and attempted rape. Vikrant restores Anu's reputation, by convincing her fiancé's family to accept her.

After Vikrant realizes his love for Mannat, he decides to propose to her, with Ronny's support. Meanwhile, Mannat uncovers Sunita's real identity and Aishwarya's role in the chawl fire. She joins forces, with Gagan to expose Aishwarya's motives. Vikrant confides his feelings for Mannat to Malla, who feels heartbroken, but pretends to help, by advising him to, make Mannat jealous. Secretly, she plans to separate them. Following her suggestion, Vikrant proposes to Malla in front of Mannat, upsetting her deeply.

Later, Mannat finds out about Neetu drugging Vikrant and Keerat reveals the truth to the family, but Aishwarya erases the evidence. Confronted, by Aishwarya, Neetu reveals Aman's identity. Aishwarya then blackmails Neetu, into supporting Vikrant's marriage to Malla. Sunita dies in front of Mannat. Malla starts plotting against Mannat to keep her away from Vikrant, but he protects her each time. Eventually, Mannat leaves Vikrant's house, when he ousts her, due to Neetu's scheme. Devastated, by her departure, Vikrant drinks and tries to reach out.

Mannat discovers that, Shruti needs a liver transplant, within 24 hours and only Sonia can be the donor. She kidnaps Aishwarya and brings her to the site where she was abandoned, demanding the truth about Sonia or threatening to drown her. Afraid, Sonia confesses that, she is Mannat's biological mother, who had never wanted her and still refuses to accept her. Devastated, Mannat stays strong and rejects Sonia, saying she does not need a mother, who had never wanted her. Sonia agrees to donate her liver to Shruti on the condition that Mannat must break Vikrant's heart so Malla can take her place.

Mannat complies, breaking Vikrant's heart. Malla comforts him and fakes a one-night stand, leading the family to force them, into marriage for reputation's sake. Vikrant is guilt-ridden. Sonia donates her liver and Shruti regains consciousness. Mannat and Shruti prepare to leave the city as per the deal, but Sonia sends goons to kill them. Mannat outsmarts her, revealing that, she had tricked Aishwarya, into signing documents transferring all her shares to Mannat. She also tells her that, they will now live, with dignity in the Saluja mansion and blackmails her, with the video of the liver donation. Aishwarya is now left completely helpless.

Vikrant marries Malla and Mannat arrives at the greh pravesh as Vikrant's new business partner. The family is stunned and Aishwarya is questioned. Mannat again blackmails her and tells everyone that, Aishwarya willingly gave up her shares to separate her from Vikrant for Malla's sake. Aishwarya faces the family's fury. Vikrant feels betrayed, by Mannat and she is equally devastated to learn about his supposed one-night stand, with Malla.

Mannat takes over Aishwarya's room and forces her to shift to Malla's. She reveals to Gagan that, Aishwarya is her biological mother, which shocks him. Gagan wants to confront Aishwarya, but Mannat stops him, fearing Aishwarya's retaliation. Aishwarya attempts to contact a businessman to reclaim her shares, unaware that, the businessman is Mannat's biological father, Aniruddh and someone, who Aishwarya greatly fears. Mannat learns that, Vikrant's one-night stand, with Malla was fake.

Overcome with guilt for not trusting Vikrant, Mannat ends her friendship, with Malla for good and decides to expose her actual colours. Mannat also tries to win Vikrant back, but he tells her that, he is now married and accuses her of selling his love for money. Malla discovers that, Mannat is Aishwarya's daughter, which devastates her. She vows to ruin Mannat. Feeling undermined, by Mannat's dominance at work, Puneet joins Malla to frame her for poisoning flour at Mezbaani's charity event, following, which Mannat is arrested.

Aniruddh discovers that, Mannat is Sonia's daughter and bails her out, with solid evidence against Malla. Mannat returns home and exposes Malla's misdeeds. Malla and Aishwarya face the wrath of the family members. Vikrant completely loses any trust and respect that, he once had for Malla, and decides to end their relationship for good. To stop him from doing so, Malla fakes a suicide attempt, but Mannat learns about it and decides to expose her deception.

Malla attempts to avenges her insult, by hiring goons, who kidnapped and started torturing Mannat. But Aniruddh's stern warning to Aishwarya that, he will reveal her true identity to the Salujas and the Raisinghs, if Aishwarya does not save Mannat from the goons led Aishwarya to save Mannat. Mannat was stunned seeing her mother, Aishwarya fight off against the goons and had saved her life.

Well saving Mannat, Aishwarya faints and asks Mannat to promise her that she will not tell anyone that, Mallika had planned this attack and will give Aishwarya one change to tell the truth to Mannat. Mannat agrees. Mallika gets angry, when she finds out that, Aishwarya had saved Mannat from the goons. Mallika later reveals to everyone that, Mannat is Aishwaryas illegitimate daughter. This is, when Aishwarya plays her victim card and claims that, Anirudh Saxena had raped her.

Anirudh comes to Saluja Mansion to meet Mannat, but Aishwarya starts panicking and is Anirudh is kicked out of Saluja Mansion, by Gagan and Vikrant.

Anirudh enters Saluja Mansion and kidnaps Aishwarya. He takes her to Mezbaani. Aishwarya tries to kills him, when Anirudh confronts her about her lies. Mannat and Vikrant reach Mezbaani and think that, Anirudh was about to kill Aishwarya. They get Anirudh arrested.

Aishwarya decides to go back to London. Just then Vikrant and Mannat stop her tell her that, they will, make sure she gets justice and will ensure that, Anirudh ends up in jail. Aishwarya gets upset as her plan to escape was ruined, by Mannat and Vikrant.

Aishwarya asks Ravindar to ask goons to attack Anirudh in jail. Anirudh gets injured and is taken to the hospital. Aishwariya disguises as a Nurse and attacks Anirudh. Anirudh escapes and goes to save Mannat. Malaika has removed screws from the crane on, which Vikrant is going to climb on to break the dahi handi. Mannat realizes something is wrong, with the crane and tries to save Vikrant. By then Anirudh reaches there and places mattresses for Vikrant and Mannat to fall on. Police comes to arrest him and he warns Mannat that, she and Vikrant are in danger.

Varun convinces Mannat to meet Anirudh in jail. Anirudh tells Mannat the truth about his and Aishwarya's relationship. Anirudh was a former thief, but mended his ways, when he had fallen in love, with Aishwarya. Anirudh had started working as a security guard at a jewelry store and Aishwarya tries to convince him of robbing the jewelry store. Anirudh refuses to do so. Aishwarya goes forward with her plan and robs the jewelry store along, with a few goons.

Well Aishwarya is escaping she gets wounded. Anirudh takes the blames for the robbery on him after learning that, Aishwarya is pregnant. He is sentenced to jail for 14 years and Aishwarya tells him that, she had a miscarriage and wants to leave the city in, which she lost her love and baby.

Aishwarya tells everyone at home she is going to see Lal Bagh ka Raja. But she goes to kill Anirudh in jail. Mannat goes in time and saves Anirudh. She, makes a video, but no one believes her. Before Aishwarya returns home she gets Mallika kidnapped. Aishwarya claims to have gone to meet Anirudh to ask about Mallika's whereabouts. Mallika's asks goons to order salad for her from Mezbaani. Mannat suspect its for Mallika cause the order is the same as how Mallika prefers her salad. Mannat goes there and, makes a video.

Mallika realizes that, the delivery person is Mannat. She captures Mannat, with the goons and destroys Mannat's phone. Varun is also captured, with Mannat. Mannat had sent the video to Vikrant well getting kidnapped, but Aishwarya tricks Vikrant and deletes the video, before he can see it.

Aishwarya comes to the den where Mallika, Mannat and Varun are. Rajendra Raisingh follows Aishwarya there. He realizes that, Mannat was telling the truth all this well and Aishwarya had faked Mallika's kidnapping. He tries to call the police and Aishwarya accidentally pushes Rajendra. His head hit a stone and he dies.

Aishwarya and Mannat blame Varun for his death and Varun is arrested, by the police.

Mannat and Shalini try to scare Mallika to confess the truth. Mallika finally does confess in front of the family and Aishwaya denies it.

Vikrant suspects Aishwarya and Mallika. Vikrant follows Aishwarya and Mallika, and realizes that, they had plot everything. He decides to help Mannat.

Vikrant hides Mallika's passport to stop her from going to London.

Mannat lures Aishwarya to the crime scene, by making her believe that, some evidence was left behind. Neelu sees Vikrant's biological mother, Vishaka and starts panicking. Aishwarya takes Neelu home. Ashwarya, makes an excuse and leaves the Saluja Mansion to go to the crime scene. Aishwarya and her goons attack Mannat. Vikrant was planning to join Mannat, but, since Neelu is in a state of shock he is stopped, by Ronnie to, make something for Neelu to eat.

DCP Dhairya reaches the crime scene and saves Mannat. Vikrant reaches the crime scene and sees that no one is there. He asks a tea stall owner outside, if he saw someone taking a girl. He tells Vikrant that, she was rushed to the hospital. Vikrant meets Mannat at the hospital.

Mannat asks the judge for some more time to find evidence. The judge refuses. Just then, DCP Dhairya walks in and confirms that Mannat was attacked while trying to find evidence. Court grants them extra time.

Vikrant puts a bluetooth earphone on Ganesh Ji's murti. Mannat hears Mallika saying that, she wishes her mother, Aishwarya's plan to kill Anirudh is successful.

Ravinder bribes a police inspector to be his informer and attacks Anirudh in jail. Mannat and Vikrant reach there, and save Anirudh and take him to a safe place.

In early December 2024, Colors TV unveiled a teaser to introduce Mannat – Har Khushi Paane Ki with Ayesha Singh and Mona Vasu.^[1]

Ayesha Singh was cast as the female lead, Mannat Khanna.^[2] Adnan Khan was selected to play the male lead, Vikrant Saluja.^[3] Mona Vasu was cast as the main female antagonist, Aishwarya Raisingh.^[4] Delnaaz Irani were roped as Harneet.^[5]
