Makmoura (Arabic: مكمورة, romanizedMkmwrh) is a traditional Jordanian dish associated with the rural areas of northern Jordan,[1][2][3] including Ar-Ramtha, Huwwarah, and the villages of the northern Irbid Governorate.[4]

This dish is commonly prepared for celebrations, family gatherings, and local festivals, and it has become an integral part of Irbid’s cultural identity.[5][6]

Makmoura is primarily made from whole wheat flour, chicken or meat, olive oil, and generous quantities of finely chopped Onion.[7][8][9]
