Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College and Hospital (LBKMCH) is a private medical college and hospital located in the Koshi region of Saharsa, Bihar. The college was established in the year 2012. It offers MBBS, MD, and MS degrees along with Nursing and Para-medical courses.[1] The college is affiliated to the Bihar University of Health Sciences[2][3] and is recognized by the National Medical Commission[4][5] The recognition year by the NMC is 2019 [6]. The undergraduate student intake is 150 from 2024[7][8]
History
The college was conceived by the Lord Buddha Siksha Pratishthan, a registered society of (Buddhist Minorities), under the Society Registration Act of 1860, Government of Bihar. It was founded by Dr. P. K. Singh in 2012[9]
The college was previously affiliated to the Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University (BNMU) till 2022 [10]. Following registration in 2023 LBKMCH became affiliated to the Bihar University of Health Sciences (BUHS).[11]
Facilities
The college campus covers over 35 acres. Some infrastructure is complete, while other facilities are under development.[12] The college includes Clinical & Para-clinical Departments, demonstration rooms, research labs, and a museum.[13]
