Lloyd Street was an electoral division of Manchester City Council which was represented from 1971 until 1982. It covered parts of the suburbs of Fallowfield and Moss Side.
Background
The ward was created in 1971,[1] covering the eastern portion of the Alexandra Park ward and the souther portion of the Moss Side East ward. Its northern boundary ran along Great Western Street, its eastern boundary from the junction of Great Western Street and Parkfield Street to the junction of Yew Tree Road and the and the Fallowfield Loop, its southern boundary ran the Fallowfield Loop, and its western boundary ran along Princess Road. In 1982, the ward was abolished, and its area was divided betweem Moss Side ward and the new Fallowfield ward.[2]
For the entirety of its existence, the ward formed part of the Manchester Moss Side Parliamentary constituency.[3][4]
