List of Terrytoons animated shorts

This is a list of animated short films produced by Terrytoons from 1929 to 1971 and released theatrically. Terrytoons co-founder Paul Terry was active until 1955 when the studio was sold to CBS. The list includes cartoons originally produced for television that were later screened in theaters from 1959 to 1971. The list does not include cartoons made for television that were not shown theatrically. The list does not include cartoons produced by Paul Terry before the founding of Terrytoons, such as Aesop's Film Fables and cartoons he produced while working at Van Beuren Studios.

Preservation

French Fried was preserved and restored by the UCLA Film & Television Archive from a 35mm nitrate composite dupe negative. Restoration funding was provided by ASIFA-Hollywood. The restoration had its world premiere at the 2024 UCLA Festival of Preservation.[1]

Fanny's Wedding Day September 22, 1933 The Last Fanny Zilch Cartoon. Being the end of the mini-series & the last time the character was ever seen in a Terrytoon.

Beanstalk Jack October 20, 1933 This cartoon was the first ever Terrytoon to be released by Castle Film's who released it in 1938 as the previous year as they got into the home movie market they were able to get a deal with Paul Terry to release Terrytoon Home Movies for 15 years (until 1953) and released the first 6 in 1938 with this cartoon being listed first. The first 6 cartoon were later added in 1940 with 3 more Terrytoon's and these 9 Cartoon's continued to be sold by Castle Film's until the end of the 1942 Season when they were replaced with new & better Terrytoon's. And Castle Film's continued the make new releases until 1951. With Terrytoon's as a whole being phased out in 1953. Though another Home Movie company would takeover the license and sell Terrytoon's until 1982 when videotapes came along.

Little Boy Blue November 30, 1933 Was Sold by Castle Film's as part of 3 Cartoon's released by them in 1940 and continued to be sold until 1942. When they replaced with Ub Iwerk's Comicolor short of the same name. Which they had to change to "The Big Bad Wolf" to avoid confusion with this cartoon with the same fairytale plot.

Eliza Runs Again July 29, 1938 Connie Rasinski This was the last cartoon ever backed by Educational Pictures which help Terrytoon's even after 20th Century Fox took over distribution. As Educational Pictures was having financial issues diring tis time and couldn't help the terrytoon's anymore. Which caused Paul Terry to fully go to 20th Century Fox afterwards.
