List of Sigma Phi Alpha chapters

Sigma Phi Alpha (ΣΦΑ) is a national honor society for women in the field of dental hygiene.[1][2] In the following list of chapters, active chapters are indicated in bold and inactive chapters and institutions are in italics.[1][2][3][4][5]

  1. ^ Chapter formed at the Baylor College of Dentistry which became part of Texas A&M University in September 1996.
  2. ^ Chapter formed at Forsyth Dental Infirmary.
  3. ^ When the Fairleigh Dickenson School of Dental Medicine closed after the 1989-90 school year, the chapter and some of its members moved to New York University College of Dentistry.

  11. ^ Chapter formed at St. Petersburg Junior College which is now St. Petersburg College.
  12. ^ Chapter was formed at Forest Park Community College which became St. Louis Community College–Forest Park in 1976.
  13. ^ Chapter formed at Albany Junior College which became Darton State College in 1987. It merged with Albany State University in 2016.
  14. ^ Chapter was originally called Alpha Alpha Alpha Alpha.
  15. ^ Chapter was originally called Alpha Alpha Alpha Beta.
  16. ^ Chapter was originally called Alpha Alpha Alpha Gamma.
  17. ^ The chapter was organized at Erie Community College which is now called SUNY Erie.
  18. ^ Chapter formed at Georgia Regents University which became Augusta University.
  19. ^ Chapter formed at Georgia Perimeter College which became Perimeter College at Georgia State University in 2016.
  20. ^ Chapter formed at Burlington County College which became Rowan College at Burlington County in 2015.
  21. ^ Chapter went defunct when the Auburn Hills campus closed.
