The Leapmotor D19 (Chinese: 零跑D19; pinyin: Língpǎo D19; stylized as DI9) is a battery electric and range-extended full-size luxury crossover SUV to be produced by Leapmotor. It is the first model in Leapmotor's D-series range of models.

Overview

The D19 is a large SUV and expected to have 3 rows of seating. It was previously expected to launch towards the end of 2025.[1] CarNewsChina and CarExpert have previously stated that the model was planned to be called the D16.[2][3]

The D19 made its debut on October 16, 2025. It will officially launch in the first half of 2026.[4]

Desert testing for the D19 took place in Turpan, Xinjiang.[5][2]

It will be Leapmotor's highest-priced model and is expected to compete with models such as the Li Auto L9, Zeekr 9X, Geely Galaxy M9, Chery Fulwin T11, and the Onvo L80/L90. It measures around 5.2 metres (205 in), making it about as long as the BMW X7 and the Mercedes-Benz GLS.[6] It will be offered as both a battery electric vehicle and an extended range electric vehicle.[1][6]

Design and features

The D19 adopts the Technology Natural Aesthetics 2.0 design language featuring a three-stage headlight cluster that can be used as a projector and a lower grille that can automatically open/close based on environmental conditions.[4] Polygonal headlamps are placed below the front light bar.[7] Flush door handles and large chrome wheels are also present on the D19.[1][7]

It will be Leapmotor's first model to use the company's next-generation central domain controller with dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 chips and comes with LiDAR as standard. One LiDAR will be used for the intelligent cockpit and the other will be for advanced driving assistance.[2]

The D19 is the first production vehicle to feature an on-board oxygen generator.[4]

Powertrain

The powertrain of the D19 was speculated to be offered as both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive, with both drivetrain options available on both EV and EREV versions. EREV models are expected to use a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four petrol engine as a generator.[8]

The 80.3 kWh battery of the EREV model is the largest ever fitted into an EREV and gives it a pure electric range of 311 miles (500 km). EREV and EV models have 800-volt and 1000-volt platforms and power outputs of 536 and 724 horsepower respectively.[9][4]
