Laura Luu

Laura Luu is a Canadian actress and community organizer based in Montreal, Quebec.[1] She is best known for her lead role in the short film The Little Shopping Trolley (Le petit panier à roulettes), which earned her a nomination at the Canadian Screen Awards in 2025.[2][3]

Biography and community involvement

In 2020, Luu co-founded a local mutual aid group in Montreal, focused on supporting the Asian community during the COVID-19 pandemic.[1]

She is also active with Local 88 - Montreal Asian Food, a food and community collective that celebrates Asian heritage in Montreal and across Quebec.[4][5] [6]

Career

In 2024, Luu starred in the short film The Little Shopping Trolley (Le petit panier à roulettes).[7]

The film was selected for several festivals, including the Vancouver Short Film Festival.[7]
