Premise
The story of two sisters, daughters of a Chinese man and Tahitian woman.
Reception
The New York Times wrote "The story he has to tell is an exotic and at times a too erotic one, but underneath it lies a consciousness of a very real problem which the author has not shirked but whose implications he has striven to bring out in fiction."[1]
Kirkus wrote "a not particularly important book, rather artificial, colorful, romantic and unconvincing in its plot."[2]
The Herald called it "rich in Closely observed, picturesque detail and clever characterisation."[3]
