Katherine Cappelletti (born September 12, 2002) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper. She played college soccer for the Saint Joseph's Hawks and began her professional career with the North Carolina Courage in 2025.

Early life

Cappelletti grew up in Fayetteville, New York, and attended Jamesville-DeWitt High School.[2] She began playing in goal when she was six.[3] She played club soccer for Syracuse Development Academy.[2]

College career

Cappeletti's freshman season with the Saint Joseph's Hawks was postponed to the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[4] In five seasons with the Hawks, she started 85 games and set a program record with 27 clean sheets. In her final season in 2024, she led the Atlantic 10 Conference in saves, posted 8 clean sheets (including one combined) in 20 games, and was named first-team All-A-10 and the A-10 Goalkeeper of the Year.[2][5]

Club career

Cappelletti joined the North Carolina Courage as a non-roster trialist in the 2025 preseason.[6] On May 14, 2025, the Courage's third-string keeper, Hensley Hancuff, announced her retirement from soccer.[7] Eight days later, the Courage signed Cappelletti to her first professional contract through the remainder of the season.[5] She did not make any appearances as the third option behind Casey Murphy and Marisa Jordan.[8]
