K-Narias are a Spanish reggaeton-pop duo formed by twin sisters Gara and Loida Hernández from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands. Active since 2004, they released the albums 40 entre las 2 (2005), Hombres con pañales (2006), K-N (2007) and Cuando seas grande lo entenderás (2008).[1][2] They collaborated with José Feliciano on the single "Un pedacito de Navidad" (2008).[3]

Career

The duo first came to prominence locally after appearing at the Reggaetuning festival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 2004; media in the Canary Islands reported that Puerto Rican artist Don Omar took interest in them and connected them with Multitrack Studios.[4]

Their debut album 40 entre las 2 entered the Spanish Top 100 Albums in May 2006,[5] and their compilation Yes We Are appeared intermittently on the national album chart in 2013.[6][7][8][9]

K-Narias have performed at large Latin events, including the La Kalle 105.9 FM "Block Party" at New York’s Madison Square Garden (2007),[10] and have also mentioned appearances at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles in contemporaneous media interviews.[11] A profile story also recounts a private NBA players’ event in San Juan, Puerto Rico.[12]

In the 2010s the duo released a series of singles; as featured artists on the remix of "La conocí bailando" by Dr. Bellido, the track earned a double-platinum certification in Spain in 2015 (songs certification), according to the Spanish industry’s official portal.[13]
