Jude Herrera is an American actress. She is the recipient of several accolades for her performances in film and television.
Early life and education
Herrera was born in central New Mexico.[1]
Career
Early career
After graduating from drama school in New York, Herrera toured nationally with a musical theater production of The Barber of Seville, an operetta, becoming a member of Actors' Equity. She then moved to Los Angeles and continued to perform in modest theatrical productions, soon joining an L.A. theater company, Nailing the Kipper Presents, originally from Chicago. In 1996, Herrera originated the role of Aracely in Bellyfruit, a teen pregnancy-themed stage play which premiered at Los Angeles Theatre Center's mainstage and was directed by Kerri Green.[2] She made her onscreen debut that year, portraying a deaf youth in a CBS movie, Blue Rodeo, starring alongside Ann-Margret and Kris Kristofferson for director Peter Werner.[3] Herrera then appeared in The Postman for director Kevin Costner and guest-starred in the freshman season of Felicity. In 1999, Herrera filmed a small role in The Green Mile for director Frank Darabont and guest-starred in CBS's sweeps week, 2-part episode of Walker, Texas Ranger. She also filmed an MTV television pilot, Camp P, for director LeVar Burton. Herrera has appeared in many independent films, including Race, The Independent, Restons Groupés, The Doe Boy, Tortilla Soup, and The Flats, and she has guest-starred in multiple other series.
