Jude Chinedu Asogwa

Jude Chinedu Asogwa is a Nigerian politician, engineer and the current Executive Chairman of the Nsukka Local Government Area (LGA) in Enugu State. He assumed office in 2025 after being elected as part of the 17 Local Government Area chairmanship elections in Enugu State.^{[2][3][4][5][6][7][8]}

Asogwa contested and won the 2024/2025 Local Government Council elections under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).^[9] Asogwa has been involved in several development‑oriented projects aimed at improving infrastructure and governance in Nsukka LGA:

• He oversaw a 1.6 km road rehabilitation project in the Nsukka GRA area, linking key institutions and improving mobility.^[10]
• He has publicly endorsed and pledged support for state‑level development policies under the Enugu State government, describing recent investments in Nsukka zone as above expectations.
• In September 2025, he was involved in launching the construction of a Corps Members' Lodge in Nsukka, signalling efforts to improve facilities for national service personnel despite unverified claims of alleged security service detention.

In 2025, reports by a social‑media influencer alleged that Asogwa had been arrested by the State Security Service (DSS) following a political rally that allegedly led to unrest. The claim was publicly denied by his media team, which clarified that he was actively presiding over the inauguration of a new construction project at the time.^{[11][12][13][14][15][16]}
