Dome of Jabalieh

Dome of Jabalieh (Persian: گنبد جبلیه) or Rock Dome, also known as the Gabri Dome, is located in Kerman, Iran.[1][2] The dome is made of stone and brick, though the building is of stone and gypsum, and its architectural elements take inspiration from Sasanian architecture.[3]

According to one theory, it is believed to be the resting place of a Zoroastrian priest, while as per another theory it was a fire temple. However, its general appearance and architecture varies with the common style of such temples. It is attributed to Seljuk rulers.[4]

To get there, one can take a shared taxi from Shohada Square.[5] The rocky outcrops overlooking the Martyrs Cemetery just south-east of the Gonbad-e Jabalieh offer a fine outlook over Kerman, if one manages to climb to the top.[6]
