Ixia acaulis is a perennial flowering plant and geophyte belonging to the genus Ixia and is part of the vygieveld.[1] The species is endemic to the Western Cape and occurs on the Knersvlakte. The plant has an area of occurrence of 35 km2 and on all three properties where it occurs, prospecting work is being done for limestone and its exploitation.[2]
