Background
The previous tour was in support of Green Day's album Dookie. After its worldwide success, the band recorded Insomniac from December 1994 to May 1995, which was released on October 10, 1995, during the Dookie tour.
Critical reception
Outlets such as Rolling Stone praised the album and tour; however fans found the shows less exciting than the previous tour. The band had to cut the tour short due to various personal issues.[1][2]
