Hwasong-guyok or Hwasong District is one of the 19 guyŏk (districts) that constitute Pyongyang, North Korea. This planned district was created from areas close to the Kumsusan Palace based on a decision on May 15, 2022 by the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly. The region is known for its residential projects being constructed.[2]

The specific administrative divisions of the district were announced on January 15, 2023, and is as follows:[3]

Residential project
The district is currently the second project in Pyongyang to build 10,000 apartments for the people.[4] The Hwasong District itself is a part of North Korea's "50,000 new flats" housing program. There's 4 stage construction of the Hwasong District in Pyongyang: Hwasong Street is Stage No.1, Rimhung Street is Stage No.2, Hwasong Street Stage No.3 forms the fourth phase of the 50,000 new flats program, and Saebyol Street as Stage No.4. The first phase of the 50,000 new flats program is located in Songsin and Songhwa district in 2022. The district itself has begun its construction on the Hwasong District 4th phase on February 16, 2025 during the 83rd anniversary of General Kim Jong Il’s birth. [5]
