Gradus Kraus (born July 12, 2001) is a profesional boxer and son of former Kickboxer Albert Kraus.[1] He fights at Light heavyweight is currently ranked 56th by boxrec. He is trained by Peter Fury and his father Albert.

Amateur career

In 2018 Gradus Kraus won his first gold in the Dutch Youth National Championships against the Irish David McDonagh.[2][3]

In 2019 he participated in the EUBC European Youth Championships but got defeated in the Quarter Final by Nikolay Zafirov.[4][5]

In 2021 Gradus became Dutch 81 kg Amateur champion after knocking out Rick de Nooijer in the first round. He broke his hand during the fight.[6]

In 2022 he won a silver medal at the EUBC U22 Championships failing to win against Alfred Commey in the final.[7][8]

In 2023 in an interview Gradus declared that he wants to participate in the Olympics and after this become a profesional boxer.[1]

In 2024 he attempted to Qualify for the Olympics twice but failed to do so.[9] After this he decided to become a professional boxer.

Professional boxing career

Kraus made his boxing debut in 2024 quickly racking up 8 wins within 1 year, what is unusual in modern boxing.[10] During this period Gradus went viral for dancing with his 3 year old daughter during his ring walks.[11][12][13] His wins and fame earned him a fight for the European IBF title against Rostam Ibrahim.[14] In the build up to the fight Kraus his promoter Izzy Asif was saying that this might be the last time people get to see him fight in the Netherlands for a while, he was already saying people might see him fight for a world title in 2026.[14][15] Because of this the fight was highly anticipated and sold out within 3 days.[16] Gradus Kraus won against Ibrahim via Knock out in the second round claiming the European title.[17]
