Graduation Day is an upcoming Philippine drama film written and directed by Dante Balboa in his directorial debut.[1] It stars Elizabeth Oropesa, Jeric Gonzales, Aidan Veneracion, Simon Ibarra, Angelie Sanoy and Rico Barrera.[2] The film is about a grandmother and her grandchild who has a lot dreams in life and she wants to support her grandchild no matter what.[3]

After graduating in Bachelor of Arts in Film and Audio Visual Communication at the University of the Philippines Diliman, director Dante Balboa started filming his directorial debut with the cast and crew on March 18, 2025.[5]

Director Dante Balboa wants to apply in this film all the knowledge that he learned in UP Diliman about making and writing film. Balboa said that writing film is not new to him infact he have done Master in Communication in Polytechnic University of the Philippines and he likes writing scripts before, and he likes joining on Screenplay Category at Palanca Literary Contest.[6] He also said that he never thought that the Graduation Day is going to be a film because he wrote the screenplay of this film a long time ago. Balboa said that he is friends with Benjie Austria more than 15 years, he is the producer of Broken Blooms, Huwag Mo 'Kong Iwan, and Fatherland.[5]

Music

The film's theme song titled "Basta't May Pananalig Sa Kanya" was written by Dante Balboa with Simon Peter Tan arranged the song and performed by Jeric Gonzales.[7]
