Fernando Valverde (poet)
Fernando Valverde (born June 9, 1980) is a Spanish-language poet and professor,[1] known for his significant contributions to contemporary poetry.[2] He has been recognized by leading global critics as one of the prominent Spanish-language poets born since 1970.[3] Valverde’s work often addresses themes such as history, displacement, cultural identity, and violence against women.[4] Valverde currently teaches Poetry and Romanticism at the University of Virginia.[5] He is also the founder of the International Festival of Poetry in Granada, which he directed for 13 years.[6]
