The FIFA Women's Champions Cup is an international women's football competition organized by FIFA. First held in 2026, the tournament features the champion clubs from each of the six continental confederations, competing annually—except in years when the quadrennial FIFA Women's Club World Cup is held—to determine the world's premier women's club team.[1]

History

In March 2025, FIFA announced the introduction of the Women's Champions Cup as part of its commitment to enhance women's club football globally. The inaugural tournament is scheduled for 2026 (with first and second round matches held in late 2025), marking a significant milestone in providing a global platform for women's club teams to compete at the highest level.[2]

Format

For the inaugural event, the competition involves six teams, each representing one of FIFA's continental confederations. The semi-finals and final will be played at a neutral venue, and structured as follows:

Seeding for the 2027 edition of the tournament will be based on results from 2026.[3]
