Elizaveta Smirnova (Russian: Елизавета Юрьевна Смирнова; born 6 March 2000) is a Russian freestyle wrestler competing in the 50 kg division. She won a bronze medal at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb.[1]
Career
Smirnova began wrestling in Chuvashia, training at SDYUSSHOR-5 in Cheboksary. In March 2014, she placed second at the open republican tournament in Novocheboksarsk dedicated to the Smirnova sisters.[2]
In April 2017, she earned a bronze medal at the Russian Girls U18 Championships in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.[3] She later began representing Khakassia and won silver at the 50th Alexander Medved International Tournament in Minsk in September 2021.[4]
After moving to Dagestan in 2022, she earned bronze at the 2022 Russian Women's Wrestling Championships in Naro-Fominsk.[5] In June 2023, she reached the final of the 2023 Russian Women's Wrestling Championships in Kaspiysk, where she lost to Polina Lukina.[6]
At the 2025 World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb, Smirnova competed in the women’s freestyle 50 kg category and won a bronze medal.[7]
