Edgard Iván Rimaycuna Inga (born 24 September 1989 in Chiclayo)[1] is a Peruvian Catholic priest and the current private secretary to Pope Leo XIV.
Rimaycuna Inga met Bishop Robert Prevost when he was a seminarian in the Diocese of Chiclayo.[2] He earned a Licentiate in Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in 2021.[3][4]
In 2006, the young man entered the major seminary of San Turibio de Mogroviejo in Chiclayo. Prevost became his spiritual director, and he was invited to work with him after he became the local bishop. When Prevost moved to Rome to take up his post as prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops, he moved to Rome also.
In September 2025 Father Marco Billeri was appointed as a second private secretary.[5]
In December 2025 he was made Chaplain of His Holiness as an expression of his work with the Pope Leo.[3]
