Drew Gregory Sommers (born August 14, 2000) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2025.
Career
Sommers played college baseball at San Diego State University and Central Arizona College. In 2022, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League.[1] He was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 11th round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft.[2] On February 12, 2025 the Rays traded Sommers to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for Mason Englert.[3]
Sommers was promoted to the major leagues for the first time on August 22, 2025.[4]
