Dobrivoje Tošković
Dobrivoje Tošković (Cyrillic: Добривоје Тошковић; 1927 – January 25, 2021) was a Serbian and Yugoslav architect, urban planner, and university professor. His work, particularly within the context of the Non-Aligned Movement, represented a distinctive "third way" in urban planning, grounded in humanism and cultural sensitivity.[1]
Considered an "ambassador without a decree," he left a profound mark through his projects in India, Tanzania, and Libya, as well as through the creation of urban plans for numerous cities in Serbia. His life's work is the master plan for the city of Bidhannagar (New Calcutta) in India.[2] He was a full member of the Serbian Academy of Engineering Sciences.[3]
