Dirk Maassen (born 28 February 1970) is a German classical crossover pianist and composer from Herzogenrath, North Rhine-Westphalia. He has released numerous albums and composed music for film. He lives in Ulm, Germany.

Life and career

Dirk Maassen began taking piano and organ lessons at the age of ten and eventually started composing electronic music.[1] In the 1990s, he was part of the band In Contact and also created a musical project called Unknown Vision.[2][1] He studied electrical engineering and worked as a software developer.[3] In 2011, he launched his solo musical career, and in 2015, he contributed music to the short film Crossroads,[4] which was screened at that year's Cannes Film Festival.[1] He lives in Ulm, Germany.[2]
