The German Association for the Exploration of Palestine (German: Der Deutsche Verein zur Erforschung Palästinas; Hebrew: האגודה הגרמנית לחקר ארץ ישראל) also known as the German Palestine Society (Deutscher Palästina-Verein) was founded in 1877 to promote the scientific study of the history and culture of Palestine, especially its Biblical past. Its headquarters were in Leipzig, and its current headquarters are in Bonn.[1][2]

It was founded by on September 28, 1877, by Carl Ferdinand Zimmermann, Albert Socin, and Emil Friedrich Kautzsch.[3]
