"Dear Mr. President" is a song by the American rock band 4 Non Blondes, released as the first single from their debut album Bigger, Better, Faster, More!.[2]

Composition and lyrics

In an interview for Songfacts, bassist Christa Hillhouse stated it was about the "hierarchy of power and government".[3] In an interview for Entertainment Weekly, Linda Perry told them that not every song was "Dear Mr. Spaceman" or "What's Up?", implying she believed the song to be one of their more successful songs.[4]

Release and reception

"Dear Mr. President" was released as the first of four singles from Bigger, Better, Faster, More! on December 16, 1993.[1] It didn't chart in any countries,[5] except in New Zealand where it peaked at number 40.[6]
