Daniel Leo Ceisler (born 1991 or 1992) is an American attorney who is the sheriff-elect of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.

Career

When Ceisler was eighteen years old, he joined the United States Army, becoming a second lieutenant through the Georgetown University ROTC program. In 2016, he served in Afghanistan. After that, he attended the Temple University Beasley School of Law.[1] He ran for Bucks County District Attorney in 2021, but suspended his campaign after being called up by the army.[2]

Bucks County Sheriff

2025 election

Ceisler announced his bid for sheriff of Bucks County in March 2025.[1] He won the endorsement of the Bucks County Democratic Committee that same month.[3] After incumbent Republican sheriff Fred Harran worked to partner with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Ceisler attacked Harran for those connections.[4] Harran had signed his deputies up to help ICE with federal immigration laws. His proposal was initially overturned by Bucks County commissioners, but a judge ruled that the commission did not have the authority to do so.[5] His goal with the campaign was to take politics out of public safety.[6]

Ceisler defeated Harran on November 4, 2025, with over 55% of the vote.[7] With his victory, he became the second youngest sheriff in the state, at 33 years old.[8]

Tenure

After being elected, Ceisler pledged to end the alliance with ICE as his first priority.[9]
