The Chana Surname is a surname with origins in the Punjab region of India and Pakistan, though much more common on the Indian side of the border amongst Sikhs from the Ramgarhia or Tarkhan community. Most individuals with the surname “Chana” have ancestors who lived in the Jalandhar district of Punjab, Specifically in villages such as Chachrari and possibly other neighbouring ones too. Many worked in fields such as Engineering, Carpentry and others too. Though the origins of the surname were in Punjab, there is also diasporas in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania) who migrated between the late 1890s and 1920s and Diasphoras in the UK and Canada who migrated between the 1950s and 1990s.
