Priaranza del Bierzo (Priaranza in Galician language) is a village and municipality located in the region of El Bierzo (province of León, Castile and León, Spain) . According to the 2006 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 918 inhabitants.
It is one of the Galician speaking councils of El Bierzo.[2]
In 2000, the exhumation of the mass grave at the entrance to the village, containing the remains of victims of the Spanish Civil War, was completed. This initiative led to the subsequent creation of the Association for the Recovery of Historical Memory.[3]
