Bucze [ˈbut͡ʂɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Lubrza, within Świebodzin County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland.[1]
History
During World War II, Nazi Germany operated a forced labour camp for Jewish men in the village.[2] During the final stages of the war, on 18 March 1945, German anti-aircraft artillery shot down an American bomber, killing four men, Richard C. Berryman, Norman B. Dahlin, Leslie C. Chavet, Michael J. Jr. Riley.[3] There is a memorial at the site.
