Political Career

Second-term MLA – Osian Assembly Constituency

First Term (2013–2018):

Bhairaram Siyol was first elected to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in 2013 from the Osian constituency. In the 14th Rajasthan Assembly elections, he defeated Congress leader and former minister Mahipal Maderna’s wife, Leela Maderna, marking his debut victory and the BJP’s emergence in a traditionally Congress-dominated seat.

Second Term (2023–Present):

In 2023, Bhairaram Siyol was re-elected to the 16th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly for a second term. This time, he defeated Divya Maderna of the Congress Party, granddaughter of veteran Congress leader Parasram Maderna and daughter of Mahipal Maderna, reaffirming his influence and popularity in the region.

Key Issues and Initiatives

Western Rajasthan Canal Project (WRCP):

Bhairaram Siyol has strongly been working in favour of the implementation of the Western Rajasthan Canal Project (WRCP), as proposed on the lines of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), to favour farmers in western Rajasthan. He has addressed a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, forwarding a letter of recommendation signed by about 60 MLAs, MPs, and public representatives of the Marwar belt.

Earlier, MLA Siyol had also asked for water from the canal for irrigation in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, emphasizing the requirement for a sustainable source of water for agriculture. The project would supply a perennial source of drinking and irrigation water to districts such as Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Phalodi, Balotra, Nagaur, Didwana-Kuchaman, Pali, Jalore, Sirohi, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner, and Churu.

Family and Political Rivalry

Speaking for the politically crucial Osian constituency, Bhairaram Siyol has beaten members of the Maderna family, hitherto political doyens of the area, twice. His repeated wins in this traditional Congress bastion figuratively "bloomed the lotus" in the golden dunes of Osian, emphasizing his own integrity as well as increasing BJP strength in western Rajasthan.
