Babiana rubella is a species of geophytic, perennial flowering plant in the family Iridaceae.[1][2] The species is endemic to the Northern Cape and occurs at Hondeklip Bay. Here it has an area of occurrence of 150 km2 and there are two subpopulations. The total population is estimated at less than 1000 plants. The species has lost its habitat to crop cultivation.[3]
