Babiana carminea is a perennial flowering plant and geophyte belonging to the genus Babiana and is part of the vygieveld.[1] The species is endemic to the Western Cape and occurs on the Knersvlakte, near Vanrhynsdorp. There is one population consisting of less than 100 plants and it is threatened by limestone mining activities.[2]
