BCF (an abbreviation of Boating, Camping, Fishing) is an Australian retail chain specialising in outdoor recreation equipment and accessories. It is part of the Super Retail Group portfolio, which also owns Supercheap Auto, Rebel, and Macpac.[1]
History
In December 2004, Super Cheap Auto Group acquired CampMart, a camping and outdoor leisure retailer with four stores in Brisbane, for $6.4 million.[2] This acquisition laid the foundation for the launch of BCF (Boating, Camping, Fishing) in October 2005. The first BCF store opened in Brisbane, Queensland, offering a combination of boating, camping, and fishing equipment in one retail format.
In 2010, Super Retail Group acquired Ray's Outdoors, an Australian chain of retail stores selling camping, hiking, and kayaking equipment, as well as outdoor clothing and footwear.[3] The acquisition included 38 stores across Australia.
In April 2018, Super Retail Group acquired Macpac, a New Zealand-based outdoor apparel and equipment retailer, for NZ$144 million (approximately A$135 million). The acquisition aimed to consolidate its outdoor brands and strengthen its position in the adventure outdoors retail market.[4]
