Ava Homa
Ava Homa is the award-winning Kurdish-Canadian writer and journalist and the author of Daughters of Smoke and Fire.[1] Her work amplifies marginalized voices especially those of women in Kurdish communities.[2][3] She is a winner of Nautilus Book Awards in 2020.
Life
She was born into a Kurdish family and grew up in Iranian Kurdistan. She went to university in Tehran and started teaching in Iran. Later she immigrated to Canada where she received her MA from University of Windsor. She is now residing in the United States.
