Auguste Étienne François Mayer
Auguste Étienne François Mayer (3 July 1805 – 22 September 1890) was a French painter who specialised in marine art. He was specialised in naval motives. He participated on several Arctic expeditions, thus reflected in his collection of artwork. Mayer taught drawing at the École Navale.
