Aquaman (Korean: 아쿠아맨; Japanese: アクアマン) is a South Korean webtoon by McQueen Studio.[1][2] It was published on KakaoPage and Kakao Webtoon from 2016 to 2019 and recorded about 200 million cumulative views during its run.[3][4] The series was one of Kakao's widely read titles during its run. In October 2023, Kakao Entertainment said that the webtoon would be made into a Japanese live-action television series with Fuji TV,[5] with Kakao supplying the source material and development input and Fuji TV in charge of production. The program is planned for broadcast on Fuji TV and its streaming service FOD,[6] with release expected between 2025 and 2026.[7] The webtoon was also listed among Kakao's works offered on Tencent's platform in China in 2017,[8][9] and Kakao Webtoon later became a leading comics app in Thailand following its launch there in 2021.[10][11]
The webtoon is a romantic comedy that follows a university student navigating the challenges of first love and friendships.[12]
