Andreea Cotruța ( born 11 November 2003) is a Romanian weightlifter and two-time European Champion (2023, 2025).
Career
In 2019, Cotruta won the gold medal at the European Youth Championships in the 55 kg category with a total of 194 kg.
At the 2021 European Weightlifting Championships in Moscow, she placed eighth in the 55 kg category with a total of 189 kg.
At the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships in Bogotá, Colombia, she ranked fourth overall in the 55 kg division with a total of 194 kg.
At the 2023 European Weightlifting Championships in Yerevan, Armenia, Cotruta became the European champion in the 55 kg category with a combined total of 201 kg (91 kg snatch and 110 kg clean and jerk), earning gold medals in both lifts.
In February 2024, she competed in the 2024 European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, moving up to the 59 kg category, where she won a small bronze medal in the clean and jerk (118 kg) and placed fourth overall.
At the 2025 European Weightlifting Championships in Chișinău, Moldova, Cotruta won her second continental title in the 59 kg category, lifting a total of 208 kg (94 kg snatch and 114 kg clean and jerk). She also earned a small silver medal in the snatch.[1][2]
