Ali Oflaz (born 1 October 2003) is a Turkish weightlifter competing in the +109 kg category. He is a two-time European Junior Champion (2022 and 2023).[1]
Career
Oflaz started weightlifting in Konya and represents the club Selçuklu Belediyespor.[2]
In 2021 European Junior Championships held in Rovaniemi, Finland, he competed in the +109 kg category and won the bronze medal with 150 kg in the snatch, 198 kg in the clean and jerk, and 348 kg in total.[3]
At the 2022 European Junior & U23 Weightlifting Championships in Durrës, Albania, Oflaz lifted 161 kg in the snatch and 201 kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 362 kg, winning the gold medal and becoming European junior champion.[4]
He successfully defended his title at the 2023 European Junior & U23 Weightlifting Championships in Bucharest, Romania, lifting 161 kg in the snatch and 203 kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 364 kg to claim another gold medal.[5]
In the 2025 European Weightlifting Championships held in Chișinău, Moldova, he competed in the +109 kg category and finished ninth with 166 kg in the snatch, 210 kg in the clean and jerk, and a total of 376 kg.[6]
