The 19483 / 19484 Ahmedabad–Saharsa Express is an express train that runs between Ahmedabad Junction in Gujarat and Saharsa Junction in Bihar, passing through key stations such as Muzaffarpur, Patliputra, Vadodara, and Surat.[1] [2]
History
Train 19483/19484 was introduced on 1 May 1989 as the Ahmedabad–Barauni Express, providing long-distance connectivity between Gujarat and Bihar. For many years it ran only up to Barauni with minor timetable and halt changes over time. Due to strong public demand, especially from Bihar’s Kosi region, Indian Railways approved its extension, and in 2025 the train’s route was officially extended from Barauni to Saharsa, giving it the new identity of Ahmedabad–Saharsa Express. Today it runs with LHB coaches, covering more than 2200 km across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, while keeping the same train numbers 19483 and 19484. [3] [4]
