Elsayed Abdelrahman Mohamed Younes (born 14 Nov 2004) is an Egyptian male weightlifter competing in the men's 79 kg category. [1]
Career
At the 2024 Junior World Weightlifting Championships in León, Spain, he participated in the men's 81 kg category, winning the snatch with 161 kg and placed 3rd in the clean and jerk with 189 kg. Younes finished 2nd in the total with 350 kg, behind South Korea's Kwon Dae-Hee.[2]
At the 2025 World Weightlifting Championships in Førde, Norway, Younes participated in the men's 79 kg category, placing 2nd in the snatch with 162 kg and 5th in the clean and jerk with 198 kg, finishing 3rd in the total with 360 kg behind Ri Chong-Song (PRK) and Rizki Juniansyah (INA).[3] Notably, Younes made two attempts at a world record of 167 kg in the snatch, both of which were rescinded by the judges.[4]
