The 2025 Odintsovo school attack was a deadly school attack that occurred on 16 December 2025 at Uspenskaya Secondary School in Gorki-2 settlement, a subdivision of Odintsovo city, Moscow Oblast, Russia. A 15-year-old student attacked fellow students and school staff with a knife and pepper spray, killing a 10-year-old pupil of Tajik descent and injuring several others before being detained by law enforcement. A criminal case was opened by the Investigative Committee of Russia.[1][2] The perpetrator also livestreamed the attack.
Attack
On the morning of 16 December 2025, a 15-year-old pupil entered Uspenskaya Secondary School in Gorki-2, armed with at least one knife and reportedly a pepper spray device.[3] According to statements from local authorities, the attacker sprayed a security guard before stabbing a 10-year-old fourth-grade pupil, a Tajikistan citizen[4], who later died from his injuries. Several other individuals, including the guard, were wounded and transported to a nearby hospital.[5] The attacker filmed his attack.[4]
The suspect was subdued and detained at the scene by responding police officers.[6] The Investigative Committee of Russia announced that a criminal investigation had been opened on charges, including murder.[7]
Following the attack, the school was evacuated and emergency services were deployed to the area. Classes were suspended as investigators conducted on-site examinations and interviews with witnesses.[8]
The words "No Lives Matter" were found written on the murderer's t-shirt.[9] Before the attack he published an online manifesto in which he expressed his hatred of Muslims, Jews, liberals and antifascists.[4]
Victim
Ten-year-old Kobiljon Aliyev, a citizen of Tajikistan who had moved to Russia with his mother and younger brother. The victim's mother worked as a cleaner at the same school. On December 18, his body was returned to Tajikistan and buried in the Aliyevs' home village.
